Cannot Repair blocks on captured ships.

It seems pretty off and on and maybe depends on the ship? But I cannot repair a block on a captured ship in order to 'hack' it. It just gets stuck right before the 'functional' line and I have to completely destroy it and build it again, which is a massive pain for something like a large cargo container.
Is there any known fixes or even workarounds for this?

I have the same bug
This is a sign of the space pirates having run out of PCU. Fix is to adjust the pirate pcu on the server or if playing in single player disabling limits all together

That makes a lot of sense, thank you for replying! Sadly though, because of this and a bunch of similar janky issues that weren't very friendly to address, my friend group has decided to stop playing :(
But if the dev team can get the game to a more playable state, I imagine we will come back.
