Depression is a serious mood disorder and it is a chronic mental health condition. Globally around 5% of adults suffer from depression. It is a feeling of sadness, loneliness, fear, and anger that affects one’s everyday life.

There are several types of depression including major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, seasonal affective disorder, persistent depressive disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, psychotic depression, situational depression, etc.

The signs and symptoms may depend on the type of depression. However, in general, it ranges from mild to severe. Here are some symptoms of depression-

  • Low energy or fatigue.
  • Difficulty concentrating and making decisions.
  • Headaches, sexual health issues, or stomach pain
  • Suicidal thoughts.

Depression is a serious mental health issue that needs to be addressed. Support from family, friends, and society helps to come over from depression along with medications and psychological therapies.
