safe zone keeps Gatling from shooting meteors (base destroyed)

i set the safe zone block and disabled shooting... then i turned on the safe zone and went offline...meanwhile a meteor storm came and the gatlings did not shoot them! after that i reloaded the backup on my local host, turned off the safe zone and enabled shooting what happened? same thing like before! meteors came and destroyed everthing! so i mean why cant we use the safe zone just for meteor protection (not as a shield against player shooting)
