Small hydrogen tank

With the new hydrogen engine I think it would be a great idea for a smaller hydrogen tank like a 1x2x1 or 2x3x3 tank for rovers or a boost in small ships these would have less hydrogen but would be useful for an engine.

We really need to see a smaller hydrogen tank. Currently their stupidly large size just prevents compact ships from using them.

3x3x3 could work as it matches the size of the small oxygen tank.

Hello, Engineers.

We have decided to increase Hydrogen Engine internal capacity, so the new block is no longer needed.

Cheers!

Engine only fills while active, its not the same as a small tank. We need a small tank. or have the ability to fill engine while powered down

I agree, we still need a small tank. The current one is far too big and eliminates the use of the Hydro Engine for many use cases, like rovers, jeeps, small missiles, etc.

A larger internal storage for the hydrogen engine is nice, but only a solution for a specific subset of problems. It is, after all, still no actual tank, and does not have tank features or behaviour.

Nice partial fix.

Problem is, it makes no sense. Engines only store a small amount of fuel in the pipes and such. Unplug any running engine, and it will die in seconds.

Now please give us a small tank to go with it.

Agreed give us some small grid tanks. 3x3x3 (for small ships) and 1x1x2 (for missiles and drones).

Yeahhhhhh..... no. We still need a small hydrogen tank. Increasing the internal storage for the engine does not help, as there are other things we want to use hydrogen for.

I would love to just have a 1x1x1 (modular) tank with 3 ports (top, side and bottom), one side remains for eyecandy and the tank-look.

Sure it is small and has not alot of capacity, but a smaller size would allow for maximum freedom in terms of shipdesign. (https://i.imgur.com/MdKozDg.jpg) ;)

How about a ACTUAL small hydrogen tank. That Hydrogen generator is a joke for storing hydrogen I had it drain so quickly while driving a small car hooked up to a O2 generator. I can't imagine those poor Hydrogen fighters that mainly used o2 generators to fly which are now worthless because the small inventory size you forced on everything. A lot of small grids don't want to be a huge fuel truck while flying.

Space Engineer Guy: *Can make a nuclear reactor the size of a shoebox.*

Also SE Guy: *Can't make a pressure vessel smaller than a water tower.*

Just add a toggle to the hydrogen/oxygen tanks so we can use them for either, no new assets necessary. That said, I would like even smaller tanks (1x1x'n') purely for creative flexibility (I know, you prefer arbitrary limitation.)

Is there a downvote button? no?

No there is not.

You are free to provide your reasonable and well-thought out arguments however.

Given your instant request for a downvote, I've my doubts you have any, though.

Ok... but we still need a smaller tank or give the engine tank properties as well

It seems this was reopened because this was accidentally marked as completed despite not being so. For anyone interested in continuing the conversation, perhaps it would be better to move to here.

Would the creators of compact tank mods refuse to help implement this in the game? Are they having a denial about putting their vanilla mods on?

Come on! This is a game of creativity. Do not cut the wings here.

It's suicide.
