Value For Color Picker

I run a server where it consists of two teams (Red vs Blue) and one of the rules we have is that each faction needs to paint all its ships/grids the same as the faction color. The problem though is we are getting players that are picking borderline colors that are very dark but still technically a form of red/blue.
It would be nice if we could specify an exact value that players had to use to remove all ambiguity. The image below is taken from Photoshop but as you can see when you pick a color it gives you a value (#000000) which represents that exact color.
I know through scripting that this underlying value is present in the game and can be accessed via scripts so why not make it also a part of the main game?
I like this. Also, switching the colour picker interface to be simlar to graphics editing programs would probably be more intuitive for most, and real life educational for the rest.
