The ability to change font size of messages in-game

As stated above, when the game shows a message, the font size is much larger than it used to be. Or is at least noticeably different. It's a small change and not that important, but to be able to at the very least lower the text size would be a nice addition to the game because at its current state its kind of obnoxious.

There are multiple topics with the same issue from past 5 years, all of those archived because not enough votes.
The problem persists especially on 2k screens, the scale slider doesn't change font size.
