Survival Kits not respawning character

Frequently when using a ship with a survival kit, i find that I am not respawning at the current.. powered.. closest kit. I will often respawn ant some other random kit.
This is a real pain when the ship is in deep space and the game spawns you at some kit on a planet often times 100's of km's away from the point I was actually at. With no way to get back.
What is the issue with Survival kits?
( Yes the Survival kit has power and O2 as well as it is on and has open access to it )

Same issue, I can’t spawn on my ship or my base and both have kits and are powered on.
