Spawn Menu Chat Screen?

I looked, and apparently there is no way to open a chat menu to talk to everyone in the spawn menu. It would be handy to not have to spawn in a space suit every time I wanted to try asking to join an existing faction.
There is a 15 month old post about it, but apparently it went unnoticed despite 8 votes.

So after I had left this for feedback, seems there could be an issue with macro, or spamming abuse in general. Hopefully this can be fixed somehow if this gets considered down the road. I'm still keeping this idea up for consideration.
