Sound Loop not fixed

Had a game running for several hours. Noticed the bug with sound looping is marked as solved here:

Is not solved completely after all.

The jetpack sound started sounding nonstop. Can't replicate again. Might just have been once, but it's worth mentioning since the devs already know how to fix it, maybe they should have a look at the jetpack again.

After the latest update this bug seems to be back. After a few hours of playing, the game is bodged. Now it just takes a few minutes after a reload/restart and when I exit my ship, the door sound starts glitching, then the only thing I hear is the assembler disassembling stuff, in or out the ship, no other sounds, just this horrible assembler sound on a loop. Its unplayable like this.

Sound is set to Realistic.

I tried disabling Speed Based Ship Sounds and disabling Doppler Effect in the Audio Options, seemed to work for a little while then it came back when I was conducting space maneuvers in my ship.

Same thing happening to me and a friend. We’re recording a series and this is a very disruptive issue.

Sound mode: Realistic, speed based sounds off, Doppler on.

Dedicated server, multiplayer.

Up to date with latest build at time of writing.

It’ll be ok for a while, but eventually, almost every play session, one of us will get constant hydrogen thruster sounds, and the other will get constant production/h2-o2/med bay sounds, or vice versa. Sounds loop forever until restarting the client.

Very recently we’re also noticing other sounds (e.g. jump drive, welder, grinder, thrust) will sometimes stop forever until client restart while the looping sound continue in the background.

Basically the sound engine throws a fit and gives up.

We’d really appreciate if this could be hotfixed as it’s difficult to play through, and can ruin videos.

It happens to me precisely when transitioning between an air-tight room to a vacuum while there's a sound playing at the same time, I noticed this while moving through the airlock of my ship and the engine sound got "stuck" playing on repeat as I went into the vacuum of space.


I've discovered that this happened while I was on realistic sound but this effect does not occur with arcade sound. I think it has to do with something about the audio changing between a vacuum and a pressurized room on the realistic sound setting, I don't program though so, I wouldn't know.

Yeah 4 years later. And the sound bug is still not fixed.. Good job Keen Software.

After the 1.202 Automatons update, the glitch is still here with additional bugs with sounds. Jukebox is now part of the music slider which makes the jukebox useless as you hear the game music on top of the jukebox's. Constantly improving there Keen!
