Smaller merge blocks for small grid

Why has the small merge block to be that huge? I'd like to have normal 1x1x1 merge block for small grid without using a mod. Please!

If not 1x1x1, at least 2x2x2. I agree though. Merge blocks on small grids are too big as far as I can tell.

1x1x1 merge block and also a 1x1x1 battery would be nice. If you make missiles these kind of blocks are extremely useful.

+1. This a major roadblock for small and compact missiles. Either 1x1x1 mege block is needed or single use 1x1x1 decoupler block.

+1 I can understand Connectors being 3x3x1 since that more closely matches the large grid version, but there is ZERO reason or need for small grid merge blocks to be so huge, especially since they can't merge to large grid versions. Logic 101....

exactly what I was thinking. There is now a mod for this, but it should be in the base game (for xbox players)

My Idea is to include a smaller Merge Block and then changing the existing one to a Connector-Merge Block. This would, for example, make it much easier to build ship sections for modular ships that could be added together for whatever situation is needed right now.

I'm also working on a modular space station right now (much like the ones in HELLION), which would be much easier with such a feature.

Good .. We already have the small 1x1x1 grade battery.I believe it will not be a difficult step for this merger.

To balance it against the larger existing merge block they could make it more expensive. Maybe cause its smaller it uses more advanced materials to achieve that smaller size?

This is a beautiful idea and should be done!

Can we get this revived? this will change most modular ship builds.

Hello, Engineers!

1x1x1 small grid merge block was added to the game with the Heavy Industry major update (v199). I'm closing this ticket as Completed.

Kind regards,
