Ships without power dissapear

I was working on a large frigate on my solo world. It had no power and wasn't connected to another grid through connectors or landing gear. I went to trade with a trading station and drop off materials for SC and when I returned the ship was gone. This really hurt because resources were hard to come by and mine for geographical reasons. Please fix!

Unless I'm mistaken, the clean up tool auto deletes non static grids that are unpowered if you move a certain distance away from them. These setting can be adjusted using Alt F10 and going to the trash removal part of the dropdown menu.
