Shielded Armor

Shielded armor is an armor that is as strong as heavy armor but as lightweight as light armor. This block is built using a new ore that is only found in desert areas. This block will also use a little bit of electricity.

what if only one side was shielded? so its strong head on, but from the sides its harder to hit

so like robocraft's electro plating? where its basically solidified plasma that robs the projectiles of kinetic energy at the cost of electrical energy (and in the case of space engineers, maybe a tad bit of hydrogen or something similar)?
