Public Servers unplayable since update 12/2/2021

Since the crossplay update the public servers are experiencing SEVERE lag spikes every time a new player logs into a server. It is being discussed in in game chat that this is caused by Xbox players and crossplay.

It's to the point that every new person joining the server causes the game to pause 10 to 15 seconds for "Connection Problems". This happens EVERY TIME a new person joins the server, so it happens every few seconds. It also makes getting in to a server very difficult.

Frankly, if I'd wanted to play games with kids on consoles, I'd get one. Crossplay was a bad idea and poorly implemented. Please turn it OFF, or at least FIX IT.

I think here are too much emotions in your post and a poorly kind of giving feedback.

We've a public dedicated server and no more lagspike since before this updates. It's not unplayable since this update. Why? Because we play like before. xD

Oh and btw: There are many grown up guys playing consoles and many small and annoying kids playing on PC too. If you just generalize that way you just show your own limited horizon. ;o)

I'm a 56 year old kid on console.

For the record it was running fairly good on console before the PC Master race got added.

Since the update on the keen servers it has become totally unplayable.

Lag spikes, rubber banding, connectors taking many attempts to connect or not connecting at all.

I've had to move out of our large faction base as that's not even getting rendered but at my very small outpost it's still pretty much unplayable.

Most of the faction have stopped playing for a while it's that bad.

The measly 2 EU servers seem to be full all the time since the update so getting in a server with a friend is too much of a chore.

We were playing just as we were before the update and it's broken.

So it's not just the PC side getting problems. As I understand it, and I may be wrong, the PC servers were hosted by Steam, and the Xbox servers are hosted by Micro$oft. Since both sets of servers are having trouble, it seems to me that communication between the two would be the issue.

The last game I was really into that did this was Minecraft. At least Mojang and Micro$oft had the good sense to develop a new PC edition of the game to do crossplay and left the Java edition alone.

This problem is also being discussed here:

It's getting some official notice.
