not enough resources on planetary lander for a rover

I cant understand why a player can start out without the comoponents to build even a tiny rover/bike from the parts of the lander. Since nobody can choose where they land anymore, I feel it is necessary for them to be able to move, very quickly, to a place where they can establish a new base. Also giving them only wind tech harms their experience because the HAVE to build a base nearby to where they have landed, and in a PVP server, would not stand a chance while they set up a little wind farm. Mabe give them more Ice and enough recources for a hydrogen engine as well.

I strongly second the possibility to move from our spawn position BEFORE having to establish a base.

I were lucky enough to salvage a gyroscope from a probe so I could make my pod fly (awkwardly), but we can't rely on random probes (even more if we don't usually play with probes activated).

Gyros need large tubes, wheels need small tubes (for suspension) and large tubes (for tires) that the survival kit can't make, so maybe having a few of them to start would be useful.

Well... I just realised that it's possibile to salvage one of the landing gears to get one large tube, so we actually make the pod fly almost from the begining :) (just have to shovel a few rocks to make the other components)

Once this thing flies (sort of), we can relocate and start building :)

You can salvage the beacon, one landing gear, the small container and some unnecessary blocks behind the passenger seat to build aremote control and a gyro, thus you can fly it

No need to mine stone

Wind farm is useless on an airless planet.

With a polar start spawn area, solar is infeasible until batteries rotors and programmable blocks are unlocked, which need power to get to and reactors are worse to unlock and get working. H2 Power is infeasible if there is no surface Ice because the hand drill and even a large ship ore detector might not be able to locate Ice within range. With subsurface Ice up to 10km away. you are left to die or sit in your lander for an hour waiting for the sun to come up.

yeah the progression system as it is, is just a big restriction on how people would play 'their way'
