Nightvision Camera
Declined
Option for camera to enter Nightvision Mode in which you sacrifice colour vision for low light visibility.
When you implement heat into the game, consider also adding infra-read/thermal vision too.
Night vision would be pretty helpful, especially on the dark side of a planet, or inside a dark asteroid.

Maybe also sacrifice a bit of camera zoom when you enter night vision mode. And ditch the regular camera effect filter, but add a green variant to the night vision camera.

Vanilla dark isn't THAT dark... barely need spotlights most of the time.

Night vision would be cool, especially if you need infrared lights/spotlights to see out further while using night vision like in real life. Like in real life, IR light sources would be invisible to the engineer, but visible to cameras (both normal and NV cameras).
This would also lead to the potential for thermal imaging cameras, too. Something that I loved about Mass Effect is that ships need to vent heat into space. This is done with heat-conductive panels on the hull. As a result, thermal imaging can spot these panels from a distance, and the stripes/patterns of the heat panels are used to identify ship class and faction.
So yeah, let's definitely encourage night vision and IR lights/emitters!
