Multiple-Grids-Control

Hello! I have created a ship that has two grids connected via advanced rotor. The first grid is the main ship, it features a fighter cockpit and a remote control block, the second grid has its own remote control block and a gyro. The idea for the ship is one person can fly it, while another person controls the custom "turret" to perform surveillance with a camera (in my case). This can be extended to a custom turret with a gun. Unfortunately, whenever I gain control of the first grid (main ship) my friend loses the ability to rotate the custom surveillance "turret". A message on screen reads the ship is already under control by another person (me in my case).

Earlier in the game's history, I remember being able to create custom turrets. Although risky in terms of game performance and stability, they provided another element of creativity and sometimes made for a better creation then using vanilla turrets only. While mods can solve this problem, they lose the aspect of the making your own turret for your any purpose.

I would to make my ship fully functional by being able to have another person control the second grid. Effectively making a custom turret on my ship. (kind of like a Multi-person crew)

Same idea, better argument, more details, with links for a more comprehensive pitch
