More advanced and robust NPC

I think the game would be better if we had more robust AI/NPC options. What I mean is that some of us don't always play in multiplayer maps and instead play offline. And in such cases, I've often wished that some NPC groups (like the space pirates) would give me more of a challenge than the occasional miner ship that tries to ram me. I have some sizable battleship/cruiser type vessels and would like to see them put to their limits. So here is what I had in mind:

1: larger ships. I'd like to see factions, like space pirates, have the ability to build progressively larger ships according to how often they try to attack you, all the way up to battleship type.

2: actual NPC people/aliens. I'd like to be able to go up against actual NPC "people" such as in ground combat or in space. When in offline mode, it feels kinda silly to have a rifle with really nothing to do with it. It'll also give more value to the idea of destroying a command structure or other vital part of an enemy ship to disable it instead of the usual ripping-apart-until-destroyed approach. You can also make them to be a type of hostile alien presence... like in the movie "edge of tomorrow".

3: boarding parties. I'd like to see a more advanced AI that will try to disable and board your ship as they attack you from within. You can have that set in the NPC settings whether they should attack to destroy you or kill you and capture your ship. That would be much, much more fun.

4: more AI settings. As mentioned, I'd like to be able to choose the relationship and attitude of other NPC forces if I'm in creative mode. I'd like it if I can make a faction and set them be either "hostile", "neutral", or "friendly". Also, along with this, I'd like to see an option where I can set my enemy AI attitude to either try to destroy me outright, try to board and capture my ship, and/or fight with attriction.

These are a few of the ideas i had for beefing up the AI systems in the game...

i have similar post to this and yeah i agree.

It would be nice to also hire NPCs to populate your ships/bases too and also make the trading posts feel more alive and not dead

and/or just add peacefull animals / in trees squirrels, birds, fly bird, wind effects, rain effects, small areas of simple water ( physically incorrect ) with fish, high temperature unbearable for machines voxels ( in earth center, for real voxel of Sun, for enegethics voxel puls from plasma [ guns, .. ] ) / for more life on Earth.

If populating stations worked like Fallout 4 I would say that it's not really worth it. The NPCs basically greet you and that's it. If you could accept contracts or trades via interacting with NPCs that would be worth it.

There are enough NPC mods out there to cover the hostile/neutral ship interactions and even sizes but I would also like to see a bit more built in support for it.

I would like to see more encounters that lead to pirating ships for cargo rather than recovering the ship materials. Also, interactions that lead to even more NPC interaction. For example, having a ship give up or offer loot rather than be destroyed.
