Logical Grid Group: Vehicle

Add something akin to "vehicle" intermediate group between "grid" and "connected grids".

Vehicle would be all grids connected with "permanent" connections: Rotors, Pistons (and Merge Blocks).

If grids are connected only by "Connector", "Landing Gear", they belong to different vehicle.

Terminal and Inventory should have selection: 'vehicle only' / 'all connected vehicles'.

Actually it is happening already. The blocks that belong to other grid are in different color.

You can easy determinate "vehicle" by like adding short tag to the block names eg. (FH-Cockpit , FH-Battery01, FH-Reactor...)

If you tag them like this then the SE alphabetical order block sorting in terminal be like you want.

Example:

Arc Furnace

Cockpit

FH-Battery01 (green color)

FH-Cockpit (green color)

FH-Reactor (green color)

Interior Light

Interior Light 2

Interior Light 3

JH-Battery01 (orange color)

JH-Cockpit (orange color)

JH-Reactor (orange color)

Piston 4

Rotor 2

Spot Light

....

There are rename scripts on workshop that are able to alter the default names of Blocks of your unconnected ships to propper sorting them.

All stuff on Rotors/Pistons are Sub-Grids and is good you can see the blocks in different color. You can easy determinate what blocks are used in that rotor based heavy turret.

Also you can toggle off the "show in terminal" on the blocks you do not need to see and re-configure (Thruster 1 UP , Gyroscope, Interior Light...)

The problem is that with big enough base and several connected vehicles, you have Terminal and Inventory cluttered with many subgrids that are not relevant to what you are currently doing - mostly working with Base or one vehicle or transferring items between base and one vehicle (or two vehicles).

It takes away those precious seconds just to scroll those lists.

And if you don't have rigid tagging/sorting naming scheme, you become lost fast which Small Cargo Container belongs to what vehicle/grid.

Plus a 'vehicle' can be used in other ways by game ...

There is search bar. If you do short tag like i write simply put "FH-" and terminal will give you only blocks with that tag. Same can be done in inventory tab. If you name your ship blocks carefully (or using auto rename script) you may not have this kind problem to determine that container owner. I have the "Volunder exploration ship" in my world and 6 small ships inside (for every occasion). Most of them are permanent on connectors and i have no issue to determine them. I am starting to think people start to be super lazy... :D

I already use it. All components (and groups) on my contraptions are prefixed for that exact reason. However it requires typing again prefix ... and when you want to narrow the search (all reactors on base), then you are out of luck when using partial words - you must type correct substring.

And ... why scratching behind your right ear with left hand ? The SE interface is 20-30 years behind in design, when they decide to finalize the game I think a lot of the work should go to make interface helping instead of inhibiting.
