Jetpack are too OP in survival.

Why do we need stairs and ladders if we have a jetpack that works everywhere without restriction ? Just for cosmetic ?

In survival the jetpack excludes the need of a vehicle for example to pick an unknown signal, it breaks the game mechanics. Even on the Earth-Like planet, just with some extra bottles of H2 you can go to the other side of the planet without a aircraft or a car. This invalidates the meaning of building vehicles rather than just for refining materials, defense and attack.

Yes it is useful for construction and everything, but again, why use the OP jetpack if you can use stairs, ladders or even exercise the imagination and create elevators or robotic arms ? (I know they are too clangy but it's a possible thing)

Make survival more survival.

There are settings that adjust the size of your personal inventory. For most of them, you can drill and carry so much more in a vehicle than you can personally. At the "realistic" setting, 3 H2 bottles will use up 360 of your 400 liters, leaving you no room for an oxygen bottle or a full set of tools.

Yeah, I agree that in planetary environments jetpacks are too op. Fortunately, there are mods that deal with this and nerf jetpacks, so they are significantly weaker in gravity, or they can't even lift you up.

I think the jetpacks should work in gravity for some extent, but like only for a couple of seconds, to help you get out from a hole or something.

I would really like that if there would be a world option, where you could change the effectiveness of jetpacks in gravity, so everyone could pick what they like, without having to search for the right mod.

I totally agree. It is even worse if you consider that the max. speed of the jetpack is higher than the max. ship speed (without mods)

@Kazeslabas: I am using one of this mods as well and its a great experience! In space their is a lower excelleration and in gravity it cant lift. However mods seem to cause bugs for me and they often run out of actuality because the game continues to be developed (Thank you Keen <3). Would be great if they would change it or integrate a setting in the options to configure it.

Also there have to be some death penalty, so you cant respawn to fill up your hydrogen all the time, making the jetpack even more OP.

Jet pack is OP. You can use Q+W+Space to spiral into enemy ships without taking hits. When you get close, just let go, auto dampener will stop you. Then saw into the ship, WIN!

Now to prevent suicide runs, you can change respawn speeds, etc. But basically, mods nerf the hell out of the jetpack, and that is how I play, nerfed space only, slow jetpack. WAY better for survival.

Still overpowered and even moreso now than 2 years ago. With the advent of handheld rocket launchers a single player can buzz around a dozen turrets evading all their bullets while knocking them down one by one. Even the interior turret can't track a player fast enough to do anything about it.

Even if they do manage to die they lose absolutely nothing but a few items they can grab more of as soon as they respawn.
