Issues With New Armor Collision

Just some feedback I have noticed thus far,

I have noticed that the collision changes seem to work as intended when I make a piston on a static grid (as shown in the screenshot of the 1x1 through the hole). However I cannot seem to make it work on a non-static grid on the ship pictured. I attempt to make an elevator that fits the space pictured, and I can only place about 1/3 of the blocks (on the edge) before I see and hear it start scraping the edges, and eventually I place enough and it wont budge (regardless of the impulse setting). In addition it seems all the blocks are not equal. If I only make a single line of blocks touching one side, in certain directions it works just fine, however making it exactly the same but touching the opposite wall instead, it will not budge.

Also if I simply make that piston a 1x1 block and try and surround it with blocks similar to the screenshot I posted, it begins to behave in the same clang-ish manner where the piston head starts to shake, and I am afraid to even attempt to force it to move.

I would be glad if this helps at all, let me know if I have not provided enough information

Apparently this is a problem with sloped blocks. Right? I'm not sure if this will work stably when moving, because inertia is calculated separately for each sub-grid.

I've noticed it with both, if I completely surround that single block on the piston on the ship, it starts shaking like it used to. It doesn't seem as bad as before the collision update, but seems like there is still something going on in this particular circumstance.

Every block seems to add a little bit of resistance, one or two touching certain walls goes by fine, but the more blocks I place the more it sparks and scrapes and eventually wont move
