Increase Drill Radius for Large Grid Drill to Allow Half Armor Blocks on Tunnel Miners

When Large Grid Drills are used to construct a wall of drills for a Tunnel Miner (a mining ship that can fit through the hole that it drills), the size of the drilled hole doesn’t allow protecting the drills and side of the ship with half armor blocks.

This was posted on Reddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/spaceengineers/comments/osei23, along with a video showing the problem.

The new armor plates aren’t enough, our ships deserve more greeble.

Can we get the drill radius increased so that Large Grid Tunnel Miners can protect their ships with half armor blocks and still through the hole that they drill?

Yes please do this. It doesn't have to be the default setting. I just want to increase or decrease the values of blocks when it comes to things such as the drilling radius of large grid drills. I want to build a large grade mining ship that just bores a hole straight through the asteroid. I can do this easily with small grid ships but once I want an interior space it becomes stupid to use a small grid ship. In my opinion it wouldn't have been a problem if the space engineers world did not separate large grid and small grid blocks because small gray blocks are essentially one large grade block once you have enough of them. So it's weird to me why you cannot attach a small grid block to a large grade one and vice versa. That's a different topic. The large grid drill seems to abore a 2.5 m hole in the SE world. If I could have it for out of space around it big enough to fit another block that would be very helpful. I personally would like my drill to drill enough around it to fit two blocks around the drill. That's a personal preference thing. Not a realism thing. Just like how I want hydrogen engines that produce more than 5 megawatts. I mean I'm certain that it producing more than that would be ridiculous in real life. But I want to run something other than nuclear fuel cuz that's literally the only option for power in the vanilla game. No gasoline and no diesel fuel. The guy is an engineer that lives in the future and can literally build ships by his self. He's literally a super genius like more than a super genius. And he has access to space and future technology. Why we don't have engines or reactors that are splitting hydrogen atoms and all that in the game is weird. And no diesel yo I want diesel. Those huge diesel engines inside of vessels are like really powerful and those huge vessels be having like six of them and the engines are like five stories big. I'm off topic again. Yeah with this guy said we need bigger drilling radius for large grid. A small grid drilling ship with an interior would have way more blocks than a large grade ship with an interior. I made a truck that was large grade with an interior that I lived in before. And it had a flatbed on the back that I could put a cargo container on and connect it with a connector and I moved the cargo container with a crane. I use small grid to make the cargo container. The cargo container had more blocks on it than the entire large grid truck with the interior that I lived in. How I know that is because when I went to make the blueprint I had to take the cargo container off because it tells you that it will only copy the largest grid which ended up being the tiny cargo container and not the really ridiculously big truck that is sitting in the bed of. Barely taking up room off the bed let me add because the flatbed had enough room for the cargo container the crane that moves it and another ship. So yeah we need our large grid drills to perform better than the small grid ones or at least give us the option to change the amount of room that it drills. Okay that's all I have to say. My game is currently paused because I'm in the middle of redesigning a large grid drilling ship because it can't fit through certain spots because it doesn't drill big enough holes around a single drill which made me go on to Google and look for a drill mod that drills bigger holes and I found this post and kind of vented a little bit. Okay that's all I guess. May the force be with you and all that. Death to clang. We're going to fine clang's hideout and hit him with the stick. Maybe the railgun or it's autocannon I don't know. The resistance will prevail. I live under power lines.
