Improve Game Immersion

Hi,

Since we were asked to give a feed back, I'm going to try to expand on my survey answers.

I think that one of the main issues now it's the lack of features to immerse players and to give some meaning to our constructions. I know that there are plenty of mods out there, but the problem is that with each update there are mods that stop working and some of the mods affected stop being updated, so I think that the game should absorb some of the mods and ideas and stop being so dependent of the modders.

I think a good way to improve the game, after the multiplayer updatem will be by improving the survival experience and immersion.

Scarce resources and immersive mining would be a good way to make players explore and visit planets, since each planet and the asteroids would had different resources . Reducing the ore veins and making them larger would favor the construction of real bases and mining operations instead of the typical mining ship and would make exploration necessary to find resources.

Since earth has an atmosphere, it should have very few basic ores (iron, nickel, magnesium, silicon, cobalt), the Moon could have some helium 3 and very few platinum, the Alien planet could have einsteinium and platium, Titan could have lots of uranium and platinum, Europa would have only Ice and Helium 3 , Mars would have the same resources than earth and the asteroids would have gold and silver. The objective would be to have a mechanism for progression without having the boring tech tree and research mechanism, players should be rewarded for exploring and for creating ways to overcome obstacles and challenges.

Then something like Modular Encounters Spawner and Assertive Installations to make exploration harder and to create some challenges and make the game more interesting, so that building a large military base or vessel would be worthwhile if successful against enemy attacks or by attacking and defeating enemies.

This would be a first phase, then the game would be improved by:

Adding radiation and hunger to make the survival experience more interesting and challenging, since these are important issues that the real space engineers have to tackle.

Adding a concrete blocks made of gravel and silicon wafer, you could add a weak and light block that could be used to protect against radiation and thruster damage and a heavy block much more resistant than heavy block armor but with a a much higher weight. Th first one would be good for landing pads and living quarters, the second for fixed bases, to make them more resilient against ship attacks.

Nuclear reactors could be much more heavier and a fusion reactor could be added. The nuclear reactor would use the more common uranium and it could be tweaked to be used in bases and not in ships, for that we would have lighter fusion reactors that would require helium 3.

Adding einsteinium (or something similar) and making it necessary for the more advanced systems (gravity generator, artificial mass ...) and making it only available in the alien planet.

The oxygen farm could be transformed in a hydroponic farm that would produce oxygen when receiving light and food when receiving light and organic compounds (extracted from trees).

Adding modules to the space suit to improve certain capabilities (carrying capacity, resistance damage, more energy storage, ...)

And these are some of the suggestions, that I think would make the game better.

Keen is planning a survival overhaul to make it deeper and more challenging, in case you missed that! : )
