hydrogen power block needs oxygen to function

The upcomming hydrogen power blocks do not fit ther models. There are ways power can be generated from nearly pure hydrogen (ie hydrogen fuel cells). But the models of the blocks indicate that they are internal combustion engines, and therefore NEED Oxygen to function. It would be an easy thing to add as the blocks are not officially out and would make sence from a builders perspective. Picture adding vents as grilles because you need them as an engine intake. The consumption of the hydrogen/oxygen would eventually use up all the oxygen onboard a ship, and kill a new player who does not know why de lost all his O2, this is proabably why it is hydrogen only. But a limiter can be added that allows the power block to comsume the H2 O2 in large ,less frequent, chunks that would take allow enough O2 or H2 to be left over when a generator is "empty" for a player to refill their personal O2 bottles a few times. I know the reasoning sounds complicated but the game needs more realism.

Hydrogen combustion (which occurs in fuel cells too) outputs water as the exhaust so it should also be generating ice if you're going to attempt to model this accurately. I've given up on this though. I'm resigned to the fact that the customer base is more interested in Legos than Engineering.

Quite right! Where does the exhaust go anyway? Presumably it's carried away by the conveyor system but to where?

To get the original ice back as ice we'd need some kind of refrigeration block, so I suggest that instead, the exhaust be condensated back into Oxygen & Hydrogen tanks as a percentage of the original amount (to represent inefficiency). It could be assumed that the exhaust water was being vapourised / reduced back into its component gasses by heat from the engine.

Either way, O/P gets my vote. Oxygen should be needed by engines. Good shout!

I completely agree. The new hydrogen power block, the hydrogen engines, _and_ the jetpack as well should all require oxygen to function. None of these functions would even need a complete overhaul since the hydrogen gas in this game is worthless without oxygen in pretty much every case, so one could just convert "hydrogen" tanks into "1-part oxygen, 2-parts hydrogen" tanks (and the same with bottles) to complete the chemical reaction. It's strange how the only explicit chemical reactions in this game are wrong (including electrolysis of ice).

"There are ways power can be generated from nearly pure hydrogen (ie hydrogen fuel cells)"

Do you even know how hydrogen cells work? Cause that is most certainly not how they work. They still require another reactant.

I was thinking about fusion reactors and not fuel cells but I cant edit the question once it has been posted. so apoligies for mistatement.
