Fine Rotor/Piston Control

Currently it is possible to set only a range of movement, the speed at which rotor/piston moves and reverse function.

Thus without scripts - or very complicated setup bar that looks like "pistons, pistons everywhere" - it is not possible to "just extend that piston just 10cm further" or "rotate that damned rotor only 5 degrees clockwise".

Possible improvements:

- add checkbox to piston/rotor that changes continual movement (within bounds) to "controlled" - thus moving only while action is pressed ... even start/stop mechanism would be better (NOT turn on/off - unpowered rotors currently does not hold their position)

- if action will be "rotate counter/clockwise" then add checkbox to rotor that reverses direction (so it would be possible for two opposing rotors to rotate in same general direction)

(And for god's sake please add changeable 'G' bar icons + colorable background, because action bar full of generic rotor icon is NOT helping in fine control, it is just confusing).

This thread looks rather old but is still relevant. (That said, unpowered rotors DO hold their position if you increase the Braking Torque from 0, mind, and there's also the Rotor Lock.)

+1 for numerically controlled target positions in addition to just speeds.

+1 for "Invert" checkbox. Possibly combined with halving the Speed slider to have positive values only. That way, while controlling, say, a piston directly from the terminal, the slider could then be moved "hard left" to immediately stop the movement rather than having to enter the number field, typing 0, then hitting enter.

+1 for customisable icons.

Usability, for crying out loud. SE needs more of it.

I just got done creating a drilling rig. The drill speed is 0.025m. It can safely pull back out at 10 times that speed, probably more if I was to add another grinder. I really wish I was able to tell my timer block "set speed X". To be had, the timer block badly needs a TLC. I've made it work, but it's such a clunky block to use. I ran past 9 actions on my reset block, got around that by creating a group. Drilling and Retracting the Drill Head both require 3 timer blocks each.
