Far larger Ore Nodes on Planets

A problem why I stopped playing survival (at least on planets) was the size of ore nodes. They are so small and cumbersome to mine that most of the time building a base is not worth it, same for larger mining vessels with limited mobility. This results in dampening the fun and progression in survival (besides the other issues), because larger base construction is punished by drying ore nodes and no chance for the nice feel of progress when you built that giant mining rig over the node and finally can dig into the big treasure below (as possible with ice).

This might have been brought up before but I'm not much of a forum mole. Sorry if I duplicate too much here, my 5 min search didn't yield much.

The solution, as already suggested in the title,: I'd love larger nodes which in turn would need to be far more rare. I think this would make rivaling factions or trading factions more interesting as well as the single player experience as one could set up camps, maybe find a nice spot inbetween nodes/on top of them and build their new virtual home and machines.

Going further down the rabbit hole: With larger deposits multi-ore deposits would work well and offer great possibilities given enough creativity. The rarity of the different ore tiers could be worked into larger ore deposits as well by e.g. making platinum or similar only appear as secondary material in a node or making a platinum node a truly worthy place to settle for longer committed mining operations.

Maybe it would be possible to make the hypothetical new larger nodes go really deep and make the rarity depended on the distance below the surface, I'm not sure.

Anyway I love this game but at the moment I love creative quite a bit more.

Greetings

Maybe it could be configured when creating world, for example very small and very far away nodes.

Which would once again lead us to more options

Still, I must say that even though ores seem like small bumps, they give as much as would provide for a base of 10 players. Plus, you don't build bases for mining. People who want ores build a large mobile drilling rig. 6 5x5 wheels, a pole of 10 pistons with drills to go deep and refinery+assembler to process instantly. And let me tell you, when one single dive for silver gives you 3 large containers full of stone that turns into 100ks of Fe, Si, Ni, it's more than you can spend in a week, building non-stop. And after drilling the mountain for only 400 m tunnel I had enough metal to cover the desert with light armor. So.. yeah, it would be a nice option, no doubt, I agree and vote. But there is a way around.
