Exploit? Blast door 'bomb'

A player used partially created blast door segments to destroy a ship. He flew with his jetpack and dropped unfinished blast doors at 100m/s which were heavy enough to go through layers of light armor. Turrets don't shoot these blocks.

Is this possibility intended? It doesn't seem possible to defend against this kind of attack - is this an exploit?

Just this week a group of players joined the KEEN server I am playing on and they started using this exploit and the spawn near player exploit to attack any player that goes online. Seems that they are using auto clicker to spray blocks and place more than 50 blocks each time while moving at grids, only warning you get is your turrets trying to shoot something then large portion of your grid is destroyed by 50 steel plate worth of blast doors.

Zerg players are bad enough when they using the spawn exploit, when they keep running at your ship to run it out of ammo. This is 1000x more toxic to online game play, making it that a player with no grids and no weapons can completely destroy a honest players grids with nothing more than some steel plates and this exploit. Basically this exploit is killing regular players drive to build, and leaving me at a loss for how to protect against it.

Most of the players on the server are now moving to private servers that have admins online that can deal with the exploit users if they show up. So ya either fix the exploit or start getting more admins in game to deal these exploit users, because between the random grid removal and random SE glitches, this game will keep loosing more and more players.

There is even a (semi) easy way to fix it and some other "exploits" like using unfinished batteries as weight, because they are one of the heavier blocks, even if there is only one steel plate in them.

Give each step in the building process its own weight. An unfinished block will weight next to nothing while a halve finished block will have halve the weight, or you could make it dependent of which components are in a block after each building step.

This way there is no way to exploit unfinished blocks anymore, the game makes more sence and it would be easier to build really lightwaight ships by using unfinished blocks as support as now that is stupid because they weight the same but don't have the integrity.
