Drilled out small pieces of ore sould be catchable by Collectors.

When drilling, small pieces of ore spreads out an then disappears.

Will be perfect, if it can be catchable by Collectors!

Pieces are attracted by Gravity generators already, if we place a Collector between drilling area and SphereG-Gen, then we get a little amount of ore and dont waste the Universe!

PLS do it!

It used to be this way. It was simplified for performance reasons afaik.

Isn't this how it works already? I use collectors to collect ore all the time. They've even had their area of affect increased from that centre black square to the whole block in front of it.

No. Collectors now eats only "Physical items". Staff you can take. These small pieces are only "Particles" now. It only dissapears.

Oh I see what you mean. Those particles aren't even there in MP. It would be nice to have the collector clean up the particles too, even if it didn't show anything in inventory. But then you have to ask why the drills aren't collecting the debris either?

Of course they should add SOME little amount of ore, not exactly ziro.

Collecting the loose ore with spherical gravity generator and then sucking it all up with the collector was basically my favorite thing to do in the game.... when they nerfed loose ore it really killed the enjoyment of mining for me.

I know why they did it, but then again I do not play multiplayer at all, only singleplayer, I kind of wish it was like it used to be for singleplayer, I recorded this video a few years ago now of collecting loose ore with gravity, it was just so fun to do, I mean the game doesn't have any AI characters so stuff like this was what was fun, since it was removed it's like they removed a part of the fun.... sigh....

Yeah, with grinders gathering all stuff from inside of containers and drills collecting everything mined, collectors quite much lost their reason for existence. I mean, you can still use them for example when using hand drill, but who does that longer than few first minutes of game? There's no real need for collectors now.

A bit off topic but...

I remember days when connector acted only as 'ejector' and could not attach grids. It was fun because moving load from one ship to another required building 'ejector-collector' system. This way of moving loads took time and forced players a little to engineer more interesting ways of unloadinng ships, using interchangeable containers or already mentioned 'gravity mining' which indeed was awesome. Now players can move all thier stuff from one inventory to another in one second...

I still use collectors to this day. On Planets I use collectors with conveyor shafts to the surface where a drone does rounds to collect ore. I use small mining ships that eject everything to mine faster than a player with drill would.
