DLC decorative block interaction
Congrats on the first DLC for SE Keen. I really believe no one will have issue with some decorative blocks being part of a DLC as we want to support SE and the pricing is very fair. However I want to request one small change. I would like if the DLC blocks remained interactive for users who have not bought them. Why? Because designs/builds will require these blocks for proper use both in single player blueprints and in multiplayer gameplay. Block interaction will give people incentive to buy the DLC content because they will be "trying before buying" and it will not interrupt their gameplay if they do not buy. If most people do not buy the DLC then most builders will not use these blocks. Which encourages people not to buy the DLC because very few people use them.
Please let people interact with these blocks on builds if they do not own the DLC. Everything else can remain the same without change. People who have not purchased the DLC cannot build these new blocks in anyway. I believe that will be fair for everyone and will provide overall gameplay improvement for everyone.
A slight change from the announcement -
"If you decide not to purchase the Decorative Pack, but you want to play with friends or other players who did buy the Decorative Pack, you will still be able to join a multiplayer game or server with them and enjoy the game. In this case, you will be able to view and interact with these new blocks, but you won’t be able to build them"
The Arma game series has used a similar method to what I am suggesting and it was been very successful. All DLC is included in the base game for use and interaction. However people who have not bought the DLC content cannot spawn the DLC content themselves. The "try before you buy" has worked great for Arma and I believe it will work for space engineers as well. Please make this happen Keen.

With that price i think anybody can afford it, but its true that you should be able to use DLC items even if you didnt buy that DLC, but only build them if you did. That would be a lot more fair than just be limited to looking at them and admiring them.
A serious question, since now we have toilets and kitchens are you going to introduce some kind of food system?
People dont live on oxygen alone you know. I have played minecraft, also Dayz mod for many years and those characters must keep on munching all the time or they die and i kinda miss that in this game.

tbh. its not even about the money. (but there is people that cant spare the pennys it costs and this dlc is punnishing a player for not being able to get it.) i can undestand if they were "decorations" like you made out they were but there not.
there functional blocks, (especially the cockpit) and by making them non interactable to non dlc players in a sanbox game, limits the play or even use of them
and gives an unfair advantage in pvp compared to players that own the dlc, if a ship is only using the dlc cockpit. anyone that dosen't own it cant steal the ship without spending time attempting to replace the cockpit.
this is also a game where teamwork is encouraged, and if not everyone in the faction/group has the dlc then they cant use the block/ship, which severly affects gameplay, but locking players out of functional blocks severly affects multiplayer balance.
im all for dlc and supporting you guys, but locking players out of functional blocks in a game designed around balance and pvp (multiplayer) isnt really fair or a good move (my personal opinion) and yes i own the dlc. before anyone starts that.

I'd be glad to support Keen by buying these assets.
But this particular problem is what is keeping me from doing it.
Sometimes, I play with friends and relatives that don't necessarily share my love for this game on the same level. For them, it might not be worth to buy extra assets for a game they don't play often. And I don't want to be that guy who force them to pay extra money just so they can go fetch my mining rig and get some iron. I can't stand the idea of having to explain to my little cousin why he need to ask for his parents credit card to be able to enter a cockpit in a sandbox game.
This is just not right for me.
That's why I'll wait for this to change before buying the DLC.

Nicely done everyone and thank you for the quick response Keen. (That has to be record) Everyone involved played no small part in making this happen and now the community as a whole will greatly benefit. Thank you everyone for your support!!
