disable eye adaptation (dynamic ambient light)

I attached 4 images to illustrate my point.

I have one mod installed that changes the skybox and darkens shadows FYI

Surface1 and 2 are screenshots taken on the moon at night. Surface1 has me standing with a brightly lit planet behind me, the sun however is not visible. As you can see the entire moon is illuminated. Surface2 has me standing about 10 meters to the side, where I constructed a 5*5 wall between the planet and me. Now the entire moon is dark.

Crater1 is a screenshot of me in a 20 meters deep crater on the surface of the moon at night. It's nice and dark, as you would expect. Crater2 is the EXACT SAME crater at the SAME TIME, only I dared to slightly angle the camera down towards the ground. Note the headlamp is OFF in both screenshots.

The problem here is not how dark the images are. In fact, it's the brighter one of each, which I find to be problematic.

This effect is due to the way dynamic ambient light is handled in this game. It's bad. Hencewhy I herewith inquire ye bloody fix it.

Thanks.

Bump (I don't care if that's illegal) The ambient light in this game should be illegal.

I really do agree! The ambient light is painful, just changing the light all the time. Looks awful... You could at least tone it down a bit, maybe make it slightly slower.

I made a private mod for myself which eliminates the "ambient light" completely, that is the spherical light around the character if he is exposed to a light source. I also reduced the effect of the atmosphere on shadow brightness as well as slowed down the transition from "exposed to atmos brightness" to "not exposed", which makes the game sooo much better to look at. Oh and I disabled chromatic aberration and reduced the vignette a great deal.

here it is. it's set to hidden, but you should still be able to download it given the link. I used the "Space just got real" - mod as a sort of template, so that's the thumbnail explained :D

Is that mod still available? When I follow the link I get an "item does not exist" error.

I feel like this problem should be a bug report, not an idea, as the lighting is still so ugh.

Bump* Please please please for the love of god I want to be able to have a room be dark without having to turn off any light source in a 30 meter radius.
