Damaged/Partial Functionality

The idea is that this only comes into play if parts have been damaged a certain amount, Turrets go slow and stutter with their movement and get limited fire arcs, Reactors put out less power and become intermittent and Production blocks slow down or start making "broken parts".


this is one of those ideas that i think should be an optional setting as to increase the difficulty without having to just make things like resources scarce or drones more frequent.

Maybe also have parts, especially older ones, do this rarely while in perfect condition, like they're unreliable, and have the 'glitch' persist until the block in question is turned off and back on again.

oh yes this would be awesome as it would mean that you couldnt make drones and such and then just forget about them and expect for them to just work 10+ hours later

Based on all the recent posts just getting ignored and getting the classic

"Hi, we are not planning on implementing this feature"


i think its about time to give up and just hope for expanded modding functionality

With so many ideas it is clear they have to reject some, if they want to "finish" the game.

Each idea takes several person-days to implement and then more to test and fix introduced bugs and problems coming out of added complexity (think about 1 week to 1 month full-time job for one person - for average complex ideas).

And yes, sometimes the idea we want so much is rejected ...


However, I am all for better modding support where it lacks ...
