Control Panel- Directories/Folders
If you make anything other then small ships, the Control Panel grid block display quickly becomes unmanageable. Yes you could manage it through a text code system that can be filtered, but there should be a better way.
I submit a directory or folder system where you can place grid blocks in a hierarchy. These folders or directory paths should be able to be opened, closed and traversed. Also, setting a a path as active, would automatically place any of your created blocks into that path.
In Multiplayer games, each person should be able to have their own open path, so when multiple people are building, they are using their own path to automatically place new blocks.
As part of the hierarchy structure, things should be able to be toggled on-off recursively down along the path. An example is using a button to shut down all the equipment in a room, assuming that one room is its own path.
Each Grid would likely be a start it's own path, and not do a power shutdown using 'Y' to other paths, unless the path is placed descending within another path. Potentially there can be shadows of blocks in multiple paths. Shadows being a virtual copy of a block that can be interacted with like a block that is naturally within the paths. This gives an option of having multiple structures, both based on location, and another based on purpose. You may have multiple Assemblers in a single path, for building economy purposes. Another path could put this same assembler along with containers nearby in the same room.
Especialy with many different grids this would be helpful.
I would like to see a simular system in the info bar to bound subgrids to their parent grids.

Having a tree system in the grid terminal would make things so much easier.
