Bio Fuel + Chain Saw
Submitted
The planets in Space Engineers are often populated with vast amount of trees and yet all the player can do is crash into them or remove them which seems like a bit of a waste.
I would like to see players given the ability to harvest the trees and then turn the timber into bio fuel to power a simple bio fuel which could power simple engine and maybe even some form of weapon. The engine would be not very powerful but would be cheap and make a good starter item or for emergencies when you have no access to other sources of fuel.
The trees would be harvested using a chain saw and a new block for grids which would be basically a larger chain saw.
I think Keen Software House teased a combustion engine a while back. I figured they were planning on adding fossil fuels to the game, but I can't imagine why bio fuels couldn't also be compatible with a combustion engine. I like the idea of giving trees a purpose in the game as well, so maybe they should be farm-able, too (that is the benefit of bio fuels over fossil fuels, after all).
That said, I don't know if the mechanic should require a chainsaw since trees can already be chopped down with the handheld or ship grinders. Maybe it's just me. It would look cool, though.
