Ability to alter the acceleration of the player jetpack

The player jetpack has a dangerously high acceleration, people are going much faster much sooner and often faster than they are prepared to deal with causing it to be the leading cause of death in SE. I believe that by being given the option to alter this acceleration this effect would be reduced making the game much more playable and much less cheesable which would help with overall gameplay and the challenge of the game. This would also help the recurring issue of "hydro-manning" or "suiting" as it is sometimes referred too as, as it would make getting to a ship quickly much more difficult. To have it be adjustable via dropdown similar to assembly speed and cargo capacity with different values (x3,x5, and realistic). I understand if you do not feel this is a pressing issue but with talking with the community and experiencing this myself I feel it would be a very well received update by much of the community.

The jetpack generally needs a nerf in survival. Or at least the option for one.

I agree. The jetpack should not allow you to fly indefinitely on planets. Maybe act more as a jump jet when in gravity?

Just make it like KSP and add a vernier mode when pressing Caps Lock, capping the max thrust AND making the thrust ramp up over time as you hold the button instead of going full whack immediately.

Oh, and of course, this should also work for ships.

I forgot: Of course there's a mod for that:
