4K - Needs incorperated into base game

Would like to see something akin to the 4K needs, implemented into the core-game, it would also give viable ways to add flora/npc animals/aliens into the game. I get SE is based around engineering, can we start looking at colony/defense engineering to aside from ships? I've used the mod for it. It really would be great to see the game fleshed out for it through.
