is it possible to bind controls to mouse 4/5

I want to bind my jetpack on/off to mouse 4, however the game says controls cant be bound to any mouse buttons, if i try i get a popup that say "the pressed key may not be assigned to controls" is there a way to solve this or is keen able to change this in se1. se2 allowed me to bind my mouse buttons, im wondering if this is possible in se1 or possible to change in se1.
