We should bring SE2 features to SE1
There are so many small yet great features that are present to SE2 that I would also like to see in SE1
1. In SE2 if a block that is referenced gets destroyed then rebuilt in the same place, then the toolbar automatically reconnects it
2. In SE2 the feature that disables destruction for grid under 30m/s makes the survival experience much less frustrating. SE1 feels like you are driving a ship built from lego parts that breaks apart when it touches anything at 5m/s. This is both unrealistic and frustrating especially in survival
3. In SE2 there is this thing called area welding where your welder can cover a greater range of blocks. I think this feature should be brought to SE1 because welders right now can barely cover two blocks of range.
4. In SE2 survival players can place projections of blocks even when they dont have the components for it without the need for projectors. In SE1 it is such harder to create ships from scratch without pasting a projection from a preeexisting blueprint. In addition, limited welding range also adds to the fact that its very hard to improvise builds in survival.
5. Less thrust needed to stop a ship. In SE2 I found out that breaking happens faster, with less thrust, than accelerating. (you need less rear thrust for this reason when you have strong forward thrust) I think it would be great to have this in SE1 because currently grids are hard to move around and are more fragile
I would also love to see these in SE1 but wouldnt expect to due to technical difficulty
1. speed limit: This was discussed a lot and probably a lot of players want it but from what I know the physics engine cannot handle it in SE1. But you as devs need to figure a way to solve this long persisting issue of planets being too far apart, ships being too slow for that, and that only jump drive being a "solution" to it. Jump drives in my opinion are not really a way to go because it makes the game a "teleport every ten minutes until you eventually reach it" game rather than a "space exploration" game. (great explanation in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9gQVJo9D0I)
2. Unified grid: Who would not want to see this coming. But i know this would be technically difficult for SE1.
I like this feedback
