eating + anti radiation kit

If you eat and try to activate a radiation med kit it fails. You need to wait for the "effects to end".
Well the problem is radiation works fast and you often don't have the time.
Also to the best of my understanding food is consumed via the mouth, and radiation kit is injected ? or at least it sounds like that. So it is not like both are occupying the digestive system.
I have the same bug Access denied
