Audio Bug - LG Remote Control + Suspension on a Sub-Grid Multiplies SFX
Hello, there has been a lonstanding audio bug regarding Remote Controls Blocks + Suspension Blocks when attached to a sub-grid.
I've raised this issue before, but the ticket got closed because I didn't have time to follow it up properly, so I'm going to try and fully document and explain it here.
Essentially I like to use Suspension blocks to create foot pads for my Mech legs.
I also like to build Remote Control blocks on my Mech legs so I can access the Suspension Blocks Brake controls via Event Controllers.
This set up works perfectly fine on Small Grid designs, however using the same set up in Large Grid creates a stacking audio bug that can cause the game audio to peak quite severley.
Adding a Large Grid Remote Control + Suspension to a sub-grid applies the Suspension Blocks sound effects directly to the Player when sitting in a Cockpit or Control Seat.
Adding additional Remote/Suspension/Sub-grids applies additional layers of the Suspension sound effects.
This bug will stack with each additional set of blocks until the Players audio output begins to clip and distort.
The bug does NOT occur if the sub-grids only include Remote Control Blocks.
The bug does NOT occur if the sub-grids only include Suspension Blocks.
The bug does NOT effect Small Grid Builds.
It only seem to occur on Large Grid builds when BOTH a Suspension Block and a Remote Control Block are attached to the same sub-grid.
The bug is not consistent and sometimes does occur immediately, however exiting and entering a Seat can cause it reappear again.
Steps to Recreate:
Build a powered grid with a Control Seat
Add a subgrid chain (e.g. Main Grid>Rotor/Hinge>Rotor/Hinge)
Add a Remote Control + Suspension to the end of the chain.
Enter Control Seat
I have included some videos with the audio monitor from OBS to demonstrate the volume issue.
I hope this information helps.
I have the same bug
