Geiger counter sound with exposure to radiation

I am playing with realistic sounds in space and have noticed when I raid a ship with a reactor breach, the geiger counter sound does not play until I'm already above 80% exposure.
It would really help, and contribute to the realism, if the geiger counter plays audio as soon as the player is exposed to radiation, not when it's past 80% exposure.
I would love to see/hear a low exposure static crackle and a high exposure static crackle depending on how radioactive the environment is that the player is in.
Would this be possible? Thanks!
