Suggestion for fast Travel

I know this suggestion where already give, but not really for fast travel.
Why not using stargates to make fast travel possible? (for safe zones especially.)
At least you would completely remove the ability to teleport big ships and gride systems.
Because you can only put things into the stargate that fits, and have a timer on it when you need to enter it before it close.
It would relay on same material like jumper tech or a rare alien tech you can find in the Galaxy map
If you would increase the material used like a factor of 10x or so, then it would be very rare to build one on a planet or base in space. And using huge of power to make a connection.
