Safe Zone Block
I would like to propose an improvement to the Safe Zone block that enhances gameplay balance while opening new opportunities for future NPC encounters and siege-related content.
The Safe Zone would function as a spherical shield with a 500 m radius and 60,000,000 hit points, operating similarly to a battery.
To prevent misuse such as quickly activating it to cheese NPC spawns or troll other players the shield would require a one-hour initialization period before becoming active.
Once initialized, the shield would charge at a rate of 1,000,000 HP per minute, provided that it is supplied with 300 MW of power. During normal operation, however, it would consume no power, requiring only one Safe Zone chip per hour for maintenance.
If the shield is damaged, repairs would cost 300 W per hit point. With a hard cap of 1,000,000 HP repaired per minute, this results in a maximum repair draw of 300 MW, which is consistent with the charging rate and keeps resource demands predictable. For example, a shield at 50% strength would draw 300 MW until fully restored.
To give players clearer visual feedback, the shield could display its current integrity through color indicators:
- White – Fully charged
- Green – 75% or higher
- Yellow – 50% or higher
- Red – 25% or lower
Additionally, if “shooting” is enabled on the Safe Zone, it could defend itself. This means that attempting to bring down a Safe Zone would require actual effort and coordination.
Overall, this system would meaningfully address the current issues of Safe Zones being used to exploit NPC encounters or inconvenience players, while also providing a strong foundation for future features such as NPC siege missions.
I like this feedback
So it means, once SZ is fully charged it consumes no power at all?
