Reactors and Player guns.

Hello. I've been playing for about 10 years now. Since at least 2014, if memory is correct.


Lately I've been thinking about a way to improve some aspects of Space Engineers and how those improvements can bolster Space Engineers 2 as it's development progresses.


Subject 1: Reactors.


I was thinking reactors and how their power works should be static. You can't "burn" more uranium in order to boost power. Granted historically control rods do alter power output. Perhaps make it boost local radioactivity or have chances of damaging the player and grid if put into unsafe strains. (Have a safe range of output and an unsafe range).


Subject 2: Player Weapons.


I find the application of player weapons kinda underwhelming. I understand somethings are gonna be complicated to change or modify. So I was thinking, either remove the variations of the existing weapons and add more bespoke weapons that fit specific roles with unique designs. So, standard rifle is normal. Marksmen's rifle is longer and has a scope. Automatic pistol should be renamed to "Machine Pistol" and have a longer mag and open bolt, base it off a Mac 10 or Uzi. Throw in shotguns too. Pump action and a double barrel. Since hunting and food scavenging is a new addition maybe add in a hunting/sniper rifle, some sort of bolt action with a long fire scope and massive damage.


Naturally different weapons would need different ammo types.

If at all possible I'd like to request LIGHT customization on the guns. Just the sights, and maybe a muzzle device on some weapons.


Additional player weapons I'd like to see if possible:


Micro-gun (small chaingun), quad tube style launcher (like the flash rocket launcher), A Revolver (maybe add an emote with gun twirling), An SMG using the same ammo as the normal pistol, Lever action? (It's a stretch), Some sort of energy weapon (Plasma or a laser (Could even go with something inspired by halo's Spartan Laser), a handheld Railgun weaker and not as effective as the grid based ones but a valid super sniper rifle.


Additionally if you insist on having a dedicated rapid fire gun like some sort of "Carbine" maybe the fire rate should match some real world guns, notably the M16.


I hope you find this feedback in good faith. I love the game and want to see it get even better. I wouldn't mind having to pay for these guns as a dlc item. Hell, you guys could cook up a lot of new skins just for them.


Edit: I forgot to mention one other thing. Player leaning when on the ground. It'd be useful, albeit niche. But there would be a good use for it, and it wouldn't occupy any buttons that are already.
