Just like how the custom turret controller is in the game what about a custom crane controller something to allow us to control multiple arm hinges


Or more options to the custom turret controller to feature the control of multiple hinges not just 1 rotor 1 hinge (or 2 rotation blocks)

The [QOL] Mechanical Keybinds mod is a great example. I'd love to see something similar added to the base game but with more keybinds to choose from.

I like this Idea, I am building cranes and booms all the time since they are extremely utile in high gravity environments. And while I do use a 2 stage turret controller setup, pistons, hinge and rotor groups are still a pain to use. when trying to bind them to the turret controller as it does not support grouped blocks, only singles.


A crane controller could be useful to allow setting up not just the mouse movement, but also 'Q','W','E','A','S','D','SPACE' actions. The Set up actions screen would then let you set up specific actions that work WHILE a key is pressed. for example,

Drag Piston 4 to 'W' set to extend while pressed, and Piston 4 to 'S' set to retract while pressed. - that'll allow basic extend/retract when controlling the crane controller block by simply using 'W','S'.

Furthermore, this block can be used to set up a lot of other mechanisms that can be controlled by wasd input.

But a block would be much more helpful and intuitive
