@Suu Suraimu - My apologies, I was trying to post this onto the SE2 forum. In SE2 there is a problem with creative mode, as there is no convert to station yet and no access to admin mode for standard users that I am aware of.
The debug gun in SE2 is accessed from the toolbar and is quite convenient, if you can see your target.
Would this be a good idea too for SE1?

Thank you, I have re-posted on the SE2 forum.
I think having a 'convert to station' or 'convert to ship' block is an interesting idea. I could see that something like this would be useful with the remote deployment of stations, beacons, and point defence. At present, in SE1 an enemy grids info menu is too accessible for a player. Having a block to determine the station / mobile status would add an extra challenge for the player when taking over grids. I would like to see this tested with a mod first to see how this would play out.
