Merge without merge blocks

Dear Keen Pleas consider a way to one time merge blocks without merge blocks. Id love to be able to make assembly lines where you maneuver pieces into position then weld them to the other grid without the pcu bloat of having so many merge blocks

I was thinking if you put an option into the merge block to tell it to become a armor block after it merges that would solve most my assembly line issues adding parts and sub grids.
