add capacitors to the game
Hello!
i own another game called interstellar rift. in that game - although its development has died - it was possible to regard energy density requirement of infrastructure too, not only energy itself.
for example there were devices that needed more energy in a shorter period of time, and there were devices that required less energy, but for a longer period of time.
currently in space engineers there is only one option that is devices require a shorter amount of energy over a longer period of time, and all the infrastructure present only makes this very extent of consumption possible.
i would like to suggest to add capacitors that can be charged at an arbitrary speed, and then discharged suddenly, and make devices to use such thing.
for example two possible candidates currently for such use are railguns, and jump drives that may use large amount of energy in a short amount of time, and for that the player would need to build capacitors on their ship rather to charge their jump drives, and railguns as batteries before use.
a capacitor would be a special type of battery that would store a small amount of power compared to batteries, but it can be charged at an arbutrary speed, and discharged suddenly.
possibly add more devices in the future that are also only working well with capacitors rather to batteries, and battery-like power generation.
currently reactors are not very smartly not require to dump their heat despite their enermous energy generation - for this i would like to suggest to introduce grid heat capacity, and ways to cool down grids with the reactor being the most costly to cool down (balancing its enermous power generation)
Need inductors too, to make tuned circuit oscillators and tesla coils, and giant electric valve tubes look great.
