Give legacy control panel button functionality with separate F and K functions

Could we have it so pressing F makes it functional like a button and K brings up the full control panel? That way we could have the best of both worlds: a TINY one-button panel and grid access all in one. And, best of all, it wouldn't need you to develop any additional assets.
I have ALWAYS thought this should be an option. This small thing would enhance quality of life SO MUCH. You could even have it so it brings up the full control panel on F still unless you set up the button.
