Revert the changes to the armory models

As the title says the changes to the armory models need to be reverted, and yesterday at that. Nothing about those blocks says "armory" now. The only thing they're good for now is being space suit storage which is not what I paid for originally nor is it what I wanted. I expect my armories to look like armories where I can store my weapons and/or tools and they look nothing like that. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the previous models at all and this unwelcome change needs to be reverted. The rationale behind removing the weapons and tools from the visuals was to "avoid confusion when the items are not actually contained inside". Yet if that's now the standard, why do we still have the weapon rack? The weapon rack is nothing but weapons and ammo for visuals. How is it that block still exists and isn't an issue but suddenly the armory is? I'm sorry but I'm not buying that logic at all.

If keen wanted to make changes they should've made the new armory models be their own separate blocks and called them "suit storage lockers" or something along those lines. Then you have the classic armory look AND 2 new blocks for people to play with if they want something that looks less militaristic. On my ships I had armories placed every so many blocks because to me it added to the warship look. This unwelcome change completely obliterates the aesthetic I was going for and makes my warships feel more like civilian vessels than the warship style I was going for.

And since there's no comparable blocks to the armory visually outside of mods, if I want to restore that look I would now have to rip out all the armories on all of my ships, some of which have taken months to build, replace them with something else, and pray that a comparable mod exists. While I could just replace them all with the flat weapon racks, this is not visually appealing in all areas. And assuming I can find something comparable I would have to hope I can update my blueprints that are already on the workshop and mod io.

I've been a supporter and player of this game since 2016 and have put over 3000 hours into this game. I have also created mods for this game as well and has been a daily driver of sorts for some time and even picked up SE2 as I've enjoyed the franchise. This is the first time a change has made me angry enough that if it wasn't well past the refund window, I would be strongly considering refunding the DLC because this feels like a bait and switch. Like I'm being promised a brand new computer with a current gen 5000 series graphics card only to find out once it arrives its a used rig with a barely function 1660 graphics card that's on its last legs.

If keen was going to change this they should've made the new models into separate blocks and left the original armories alone. Then they could've added additional value to the older DLC the armories come from and potentially gotten more sales as a result from people who want something similar to the armory, but not as militaristic in appearance. So all of that said, this needs to be reverted yesterday and the new armories and old made into separate block types.

I dont get it, isnt it just to fill it with weapons, and they come back?

Ohh nwm, they actually removed the guns from the armoury. Why is it called an armory then?

That's exactly the problem is they removed the guns from it. Now it's just a glorified clothes closet. It's stupid to me that they removed the guns and tools from the display because "it avoids confusion if those things aren't really in there" yet we have the weapon rack which is literally nothing but weapons. How on earth can the armory cause confusion but not the weapon rack? It would've been better if they just made this a separate block and called one the armory and the other a suit storage or something. Let people use whichever. Or made it so the doors open and close like with the crates.

something i noticed is that trhy try to hide guns as much as possible. just look at the trailers and u will see them holding grinders or drillers all the time...

my sugestion would be to revert the change and also add the version with the lockers closed for those players who want a more pacific approach

That's what I'm saying. Heck it could've been as simple as a door people can open/close like we have on the crates.

Or add animation sliding that drawler doors up, and show guns are behind.

(Like fridge, coveyor cap, etc.)

Indeed. let people have the choice of whether to display them or not. give a bit of extra immersion to it like pulling up the door on the crates to look inside.
