Atmospheric thrusters rebalance on low grav Planets

The problem that I see is that, to my knowledge, the atmospheric thrusters work as good on low gravity planets like Europa as on bigger planets like earth.

As the atmosphere would be thin on these planets too, the atmospheric thrusters should get an efficiency penalty like the ion thrusters. The efficiency should be decreased far enough that it is no longer possible to get off the planet only with atmospheric thrusters.

It is a small change, but I think that it would do much in terms of realism (if you ignore, that an atmospheric thruster needs oxygen to work).

Why would an atmospheric thruster need oxygen to work? The used design in game does not use fuel directly, but supposedly heats the present gasses to increase pressure on one side while using a fan to pull air into itself.

I agree that thrusters need balancing, especially in relation to energy generation blocks.

You are right with the oxygen in-Game. What I wanted to say is that turbines in our world don't work that way.

Gas is gas.
