Lock Rotation For block placement

When placing multiple blocks in a row, in survival mode, minor adjustments with the mouse sometimes wander the cursor onto a different block face resulting in the chosen block rotating along an inconsistent axis.
I would like to see a hotkey or toggle feature that temporarily locks the block rotation to the last grid interacted with while letting the rotation keys continue to change the block rotation.
This isn't an issue with full normal blocks as the block rotation does not matter but with the rising number of unique block faces the rotation changing with a bump of the mouse.
